Per FAA rules, you can bring one battery in the cabin (giving you about 9.3 miles of range) and the airline will gate-check the chair. Always confirm specifics with your carrier before flying.

How far can it go on a single charge?

Up to 19.8 miles using the dual auto-switching battery system, or about 9.3 miles on a single battery. Heavier riders, rough terrain, frequent hills, and cold temperatures will reduce that range. Overnight charging (8–12 hours) restores full capacity.

What's the weight capacity?

Will it fit through standard doorways?

Yes. At 24" wide unfolded with a 35.4" turning radius, the Air Elite Max fits through standard 32–36" residential doorways with room to spare. Flip-back armrests let you slide right up to dining tables and desks.

Can the joystick be mounted on the left side?

Yes. The LED joystick controller mounts on either side — choose whichever hand is most comfortable. The controller displays speed and mileage, has a built-in USB port for device charging, and offers voice notifications.

Does it fold for travel?

Yes — with a single-pull, one-motion fold. Folded dimensions are 26.25" × 12.5" × 36", which fits most car trunks and SUV cargo areas. The Air Elite Max is fully assembled out of the box, so you just unfold, snap on the joystick, charge, and go.

Is it HSA/FSA eligible?

Yes. Most customers pay using HSA or FSA funds. Note that Journey does not bill Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance directly — the Air Elite Max is classified as a personal electric vehicle (FDA registered), not a prescribed medical device.

Can I push it like a manual wheelchair?

When the chair is unoccupied, yes — convenient for moving it around when not in use. However, it is not designed for a seated rider to be pushed by another person; the intended use is powered self-driving with the joystick.

You will schedule an appointment with the shipping company once it arrives at your local freight center to plan a time for delivery.

You will be required to sign at the time of delivery.

Products under about 150 Lbs. will ship via ground shipping by FedEx or UPS.

Please inspect the condition of your item and its packaging upon delivery, If there is any visual damage to the item or its packaging, please make note of that on the Bill Of Landing for any freight shipment. 

Contact us immediately with your order number and photos/videos to show any damage that might have occurred. 

We will either replace the item or give you instructions for return shipping and a full refund.
