Will the Rio Firefly fit my wheelchair?

It clamps to your wheelchair's frame and fits most rigid and folding manual chairs. The deciding factor is your frame, not the brand. Download the compatibility guide, or email or call us with your make and model and we'll confirm the fit before you order. We also offer a custom mounting kit for the Ki-Mobility Rogue and Quickie Nitrum — just ask.

How far can the Rio Firefly go on one charge?

About 12–15 miles per charge, depending on rider weight, speed, terrain, temperature, and headwind. The removable lithium-ion battery recharges in around 3 hours.

Can I get the Rio Firefly in a car or on a plane?

Yes — the quick-release center frame comes apart without tools, so the pieces transport easily in a car, on a plane, or for storage. The battery is lithium-ion, which airlines regulate, so check your carrier's battery rules before you fly.

Is the Rio Firefly hard to install?

First-time setup takes about an hour with the included tools. You do it once; after that, attaching and detaching takes seconds. There's a step-by-step video and full manual above.

What's covered by the Rio Firefly warranty?

One year on manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, plus six months on the lithium-ion battery. Full terms and exclusions are below.

Rio Firefly Wheelchair Attachment warranty

1 Year
Parts & workmanship
Covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
6 Months
Lithium-ion battery
Coverage on the battery against manufacturing defects.

Not covered: damage to connectors, connector pins, cables or wires; pulled or severed motor wires; dropped chargers and batteries; water damage; or any physical damage occurring after receipt of the product.

The warranty is void if:

 

  • Assembly and installation are not performed according to the instructions.
  • Preventative and routine maintenance has not been performed.
  • The serial numbers on the frame, motor, controller, or battery are removed or altered.
  • The motor, controller, or battery are opened, altered, or disassembled.
  • The attachment is used in any competitive event, or for stunt riding or jumping.
  • The attachment is submerged in or sprayed with water, including accidental exposure to rain.
  • The attachment is used in a manner contrary to the instructions in the user's manual.
  • Any modifications are made to the device.
  • It is run into objects or obstructions.

 

This Product will ship to you for free.

Large and heavy items will be shipped via freight LTL delivery.

You will schedule an appointment with the shipping company once it arrives at your local freight center to plan a time for delivery.

You will be required to sign at the time of delivery.

Products under about 150 Lbs. will ship via ground shipping by FedEx or UPS.

If your order is in stock and we process the charges to your credit card, it will ship within five business days from the date of your order.  We will send you tracking information within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse to the e-mail address you provided when checking out.  If you do not receive tracking information from us within six business days of your order, feel free to follow up with us at info@MobilityDepartment.com

What if there is damage during transit?

Please inspect the condition of your item and its packaging upon delivery, If there is any visual damage to the item or its packaging, please make note of that on the Bill Of Landing for any freight shipment. 

Contact us immediately with your order number and photos/videos to show any damage that might have occurred. 

We will either replace the item or give you instructions for return shipping and a full refund.
